Como toca hablar de provincias de España, os pongo esta canción con las provincias y alguna detalle de la cultura de alguna región.  No tenemos que memorizar todas las provincias, pero sí conocer algunas y a qué comunidad pertenecen.

En este mapa podemos ver como cada color corresponde a una comunidad autónoma, con una o varias provincias en cada comunidad.

Each autonomous community has its own president and a parliament. It also has a flag.

Our community is the Community of Madrid.

It is divided into autonomous communities.  There are 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities, Ceuta and Melilla.

Our World

La siguiente unidad de Social Science se llama "Our World" (Nuestro Mundo).

Estos son los contenidos:

--Distintas formas de representar la Tierra: mapas, globos terráqueos y mapamundis.
--Los puntos cardinales y la posición del Sol. 
--La división de la Tierra en hemisferio norte y hemisferio sur por el ecuador. 
--La localización de España y otros países distintos en los mapas. (Para el examen solo entra España, Portugal, y Francia, pero en clase vemos más países.)
--La funcionalidad de los planos para poder orientarnos y seguir instrucciones. (Utilizar los coordinadas para ubicar elementos en un plano.)

Social Science Unit 1: The Solar System

Hemos empezado la primera unidad de Ciencias Sociales: The Solar System.

Hoy se han llevado a casa una carta con la información que vamos a ver y el vocabulario clave.  Aquí pongo los contenidos de la unidad:

--Los planetas y astros que forman nuestro Sistema Solar
--Los movimientos de la Tierra que originan la noche y el día, así como las estaciones del año. 
-- Las fases de la Luna y su movimiento alrededor de la Tierra. 
--La distinción entre las diferentes capas de la Tierra y su posición


Se puede estudiar utilizando las audiciones y canciones de la unidad, la presentación PowerPoint y las actividades de Let’s play! ubicadas en la Plus Zone.  Se accede al Plus Zone en Internet registrándose con un código que viene impreso en el libro (enviaré los libros a casa en breve para que lo apuntáis).  Asimismo, os invito a observar con vuestros/as hijos/as las diferentes fases que experimenta la Luna durante la noche, así como todos los cambios relacionados con la luz solar durante el día. Sin duda, vuestra colaboración ayudará a que vuestro/a hijo/a aprenda y se divierta.
